Spaced Repetition Flashcards for English Vocabulary
Spaced repetition is the most evidence-backed memory technique we have. Tilingu uses the same SM-2 algorithm that powers Anki — but adds AI-generated sentences, exam-style reading and writing feedback on top, so you don't just *recognise* words, you *use* them.
Why study General vocabulary with Tilingu?
Pure SM-2 algorithm
Tilingu uses SuperMemo's SM-2 with conservative ease updates — the same heuristics that made Anki the gold standard.
Active recall, not just review
Spaced repetition tells you *when* to review; Tilingu adds AI-generated practice that tells you *how*: writing, fill-in-the-blank, reading.
Zero setup
No app to install, no deck to download — start studying in 30 seconds and your progress syncs across devices.
Frequently asked
What is SM-2?
SM-2 is the spaced repetition algorithm developed by Piotr Woźniak in 1987 and made famous by Anki. It calculates the next review date for each card based on how easy you rated it on the previous review.
How is Tilingu different from Anki?
Anki is a flashcard engine; you bring your own content. Tilingu uses the same algorithm but generates exam-style reading, writing prompts and fill-in-the-blank questions automatically from each word — and ships pre-built exam packs for IELTS, TOEFL, YDS and YÖKDİL.
Do I need to install anything?
No — Tilingu runs in the browser. There is also an optional Chrome extension for capturing new words from any webpage with Alt+click.
